Wildfire changelog
1.1 September 29, 2026
- The result breaks the score into its parts: the goal, the area, houses and cabins, the budget left, and any measure of the scenario's own.
- Every result says how close it came to the goal, such as "Goal met with 5.3 acres to spare" or "Missed by 12 acres".
- Budget points count only when no house or cabin is lost, so saving money never outscores saving a house.
- Letting the fire reach a house and then saving it no longer scores higher than keeping the fire away from it.
- The burned area shows how much of it came from fire you set.
- Scores follow the new rules from this version on. Leaderboards and your best results start fresh.
1.0.1 September 29, 2026
- Letter and number keys keep working after you click a button. A setting in the Keyboard section limits them to the map.
- Sandbox tool keys do nothing during a scenario.
- An alert that slows the game no longer speeds it back up on its own. Your earlier speed stays outlined, and one tap brings it back.
- Alert cards stay on screen while the game is paused, and their times match the clock.
- The result stays reachable: a Result button reopens it, and it returns after the replay or when you press play.
- The buttons on the result and the briefing stay in view on short screens.
- Home shows the whole map.
- Metric converts the forecast table.
- Clicking a unit's icon selects that unit where icons overlap, and a line drawn starting on another unit is no longer ignored.
- A house catching fire during a scenario shows one message, not two.
- Esc on a briefing leaves the game paused with the map focused.
- A weather event added in the sandbox shows the same time in the message and in the list.
- On phones, the More menu closes after you pick something or tap elsewhere.
1.0 September 25, 2026
- First release: a fire behavior sandbox on generated landscapes with weather, rain, snow, lightning and overlays.
- Landscape types: mountain valley, mountain pine forest, coastal brush hills, prairie and farmland, high desert sage and juniper, and subalpine with snow.
- Scenarios with hand crews, dozers, engines, helicopters, air tankers, structure prep and firing teams, each with a forecast, a budget, a goal and a rating out of three stars.
- A daily fire, the same for everyone, with a result to share, and endless initial attack at three settings.
- A scenario editor that turns a sandbox setup into a scenario you can share by link.
- Achievements, and leaderboards for the daily fire and every scenario, with a cheaterboard.
- Projected spread at 1, 2 and 4 hours, alerts that can slow or pause time, an incident log, reinforcements and hidden lightning starts.
- A summary and time-lapse replay after every fire, photo mode, and a page on how wildfire behaves with small fires to run.
