    Rules

Each number counts the mines in the eight squares around it. Open every square that is not a mine to clear the map; opening a mine ends the game.

Flag the squares you know are mines. When a number has as many flags around it as its value, click it to open all of its other neighbors at once. This is called chording. If one of those flags is wrong, the chord opens a mine.

The mine counter shows the total minus the flags you have placed, so it can be wrong if a flag is.

Near the end of a map, the number of mines left can settle squares that the numbers alone cannot, so the count is part of the logic.
